Kota Bahru overview

Kota Bahru Travel Guide
Kota Bharu, on the Malaysian border with Thailand may feel like a transit town to Thailand or the Perhentian Islands but it does have some wonderful museums. Make a note that they are not open on a Friday. In fact make a note that not much is open on a Friday. Also make a note that because this is an Islamic city naked thighs and belly-buttons are frowned upon. The most impressive building to wonder around is probably the Pasar Besar which is a thronging, colourful market by day. At night it is a nearby square, the Pasar Malam which comes alive. The cities famous dry crackers are perfect at the end of the day with a cool beer, except this is a Muslim town, so itís almost impossible to get a cool beer.
